AMI sponsors ’the 2006 ANEMF Prize for International Solidarity’.
This year, AMI sponsors "the 2006 ANEMF Prize for International Solidarity" of the National Association of the Medical students of France:
The ANEMF Humanitarian Prize rewards each year 2 projects, one in the «first project» category and the other in the «renewed project» category. ANEMF gives 750 euros to each project.
What is the role of AMI? AMI takes part in the Weekend of International Solidarity going from November 11th the 13th 2005. Beyond a simple role of information and sensitizing in the humanitarian environment, AMI commits itself in carrying out ’ evaluation-councils’ of the suggested projects. AMI is charged to inform certain files to the other members of the jury and takes part in an active way by deliberating in the attribution of the Prizes. The Prizes were awarded during the ANEMF Summer Days in May. We will regularly keep you informed of advanced partnership…

Article I – Introduction
The purpose of the present charter is to define the rules for establishing partnerships, whether they are simply a donation or an active channel through which Aide Médicale Internationale seeks support.
Article II – Use of the AMI Name and Logo
The use of the AMI logo by a partner is restricted, as defined in the Partnership Contract (Article V). The size of the logo in a promotional campaign must reflect the added value brought to the campaign by AMI. Particular attention must be paid to avoid AMI’s name and reputation being damaged or altered by excessive or inappropriate promotion.
The limits within which AMI’s name may be used and the duration of this use must be clearly defined in the Partnership Contract (Article V).
Article III – Three Lines of Cooperation
AMI will clearly define its objectives when agreeing to collaborate with a company. These objectives may be:
Material
Financial
Strategic
1. Material Support
The company provides AMI with certain products and services (technical means, advertising space, furniture, etc.) free of charge, thus allowing AMI to reduce its operating costs.
2.Financial Support
Sponsorship: Donation of funds with no economic return. The company provides financial support to AMI for its activities as a whole, for its overall activities in a specific field (HIV, children, etc.), or for a specific mission.
Partnership: Donation of funds with an economic return. The company wishes to associate its image with that of AMI. Both parties set up a partnership contract defining the modalities for a specific operation and the means of remuneration.
3.Strategic Support
Shared Expertise: To allow AMI to reduce its operating costs, the company gives the association the benefit of the expertise of one or several of their employees (e.g. technical skills, computer skills).
Communication Support: Such collaboration between AMI and the company serves as a vector bringing AMI more visibility. The operation allows the association to reach the public at large as well as the company’s customers and/or personnel, in order to increase awareness of AMI’s actions and values. Aide Médicale Internationale undertakes to design communication tools explaining the company’s approach.
Article IV – Selecting a Company
AMI pledges to investigate the company’s attitude regarding its responsibility to society before committing to any partnership. The purpose of this investigation is to ensure the highest degree possible of transparency when drawing up the terms of partnership.
AMI’s partner must have no conflict with the principles and values defined by its Charter (see annex).
In the name of universal medical ethics and the right to humanitarian aid, AMI’s actions are governed by total neutrality and impartiality, and the association exercises complete freedom when carrying out its functions.
In practice, this means that AMI will not accept funds from any company whose activities are detrimental to human health or the cause of humanitarian disasters, such as the arms industry. The partnership activities must not conflict with the objectives fixed by AMI’s missions, nor must they restrict AMI’s actions.
AMI undertakes to have all partnership agreements validated by the members of the Board of Trustees before they become effective.
Artivle V – Proposal and Contract
No verbal or written agreement may be made before a contract has been written and approved by both partners.
Field missions must with consult head office before accepting any partnership.
All partnership contracts with any legal entity must be submitted to the Board of Trustees of the association Aide Médicale Internationale for approval.

The bringing together of Non Governmental Organisations and companies in common actions of solidarity shows that together, in the complementary of the skills brought by each one, it is possible to not only contribute to a North-South redistribution but also to bring closer men and women in the radically different living conditions in a growing concern of equity and respect of the basic rights.
Furthermore, in the Northern countries such as in the Southern ones, the civilian society is organised and affected by the reflection and the decisions of the major international institutions and the governments. Associations co-ordinate their actions together, exchange skills, create dynamic ones, bring solutions of proximity conceived with the beneficiary communities.
